Remember my teaser:

This was my late Great Aunts dress, and she was always on top of fashion, so I'm pretty sure she wore this in the '80's early 90's?!?!. I hope anyway!! There is absolutely nothing flattering about it on the hanger for sure. Not so much on the body either:

Baggy, baggy, but potential. Maybe. |
The pleated skirt/dress is what grabbed my attention right away. How cute would it be as a skirt! To wear with a light sweater, black leggings/tights and some fun boots!!! I knew I had to do it. And as I was cutting it, I'm hoping Aunt Sarah isn't getting mad at me!!! ha!
Anyway, here's my idea for the skirt...
 |
Chopped this bad boy in half |
 |
Now had to take it in to my size. Then I hemmed a waistline by just folding the black slip part in half and sewing . |
 |
Final fitting. Tank top and holding up a sweater with my chin. Lovely I know!! |
 |
My pleated skirt!! I think the flowers are muted enough to get a way with wearing it this winter. |
 |
Added some lace to the bottom to make this a cami or tank. |

The whole time I was dissecting this dress, I was seriously hoping that Aunt Sarah was happy, not mad!! No seriously, she was grinning I'm sure!
So, the final question. What to do with the top/tunic?
To be continued....
